Tooth decay treatment

Ošetření zubního kazu

Painless treatment of tooth decay is a given for us. Our goal is to treat cavities best at their beginning, when sharpening is easier and much gentler on your teeth.

During the dental examination, we use dental X-rays, which can detect incipient interdental cavities, hidden cavities (e.g. under existing fillings or below the gum level). We will also check all dental fillings or fillings and, if necessary, replace loose or damaged ones.

How does tooth decay occur?

Tooth decay occurs primarily due to inadequate oral hygiene and the subsequent formation of dental plaque on the surface of the teeth. Plaque contains a large number of bacteria that gradually destroy the enamel, causing tooth decay. If the decay is not detected and treated in time, it will begin to spread. The goal of treating tooth decay is to remove all infected tooth tissue and replace it, most often with a white composite filling. This prevents complications from the spread of decay deep into the dental pulp and its subsequent inflammation, or the death of the entire tooth. In such a case, root canal treatment is necessary.

Are you very afraid of "drilling your teeth" or of having local anesthesia administered?

Are you very afraid of "drilling your teeth" or administering local anesthesia? Do you suffer from a gag reflex? Every invasive procedure at our clinic can be made more pleasant by inhaling nitrous oxide or Entonox. Entonox is an effective and safe non-invasive inhalation analgesic that has a rapid onset and also a rapid withdrawal of effect. It has analgesic, mild sedative and anxiolytic effects. The patient is conscious during the inhalation and does not require an escort, and can even drive a motor vehicle half an hour after the inhalation. It is suitable for both adult and pediatric patients.
